What Is The Menopause?

The menopause is a hugely significant phase of a woman’s life, one in which she moves from a time of fertility to a totally new experience of herself.

The solution is to avoid bathing in very hot water – take baths and showers in tepid water and also decrease the amount of time spent in the bath or shower.

Soap is also very harsh on the skin and may exacerbate the problem of dry skin.

Save the soap for the areas where you may really need it such as the feet and the underarms. You can simply wash the rest of your body with water or with a product specially formulated for very dry skin if you prefer.

Avoid soaps or cleansing products that are anti-bacterial or strongly perfumed however as these will also contain harsh chemicals that strip the skin of its’ natural moisture levels.

Don’t forget after bathing or washing to moisturize your entire body – not just your face.

There are many simple and inexpensive moisturizers in the shops that won’t cost you a fortune and will do the job just as well as the pricier beauty products.

When you exercise higher levels of nutrients and oxygen are delivered to the skin and this increases the production of collagen, which is vital if we want to maintain a youthful looking complexion.

People who exercise also generally tend to have brighter more vibrant looking complexions than those who don’t.
